I agree to an extent of your point. The reason why I say extent is because there is such thing as this marketing ploy going too far and backfiring. The best example I can think of, at least in my mind, is when I see someone who goes as far as to get the apple logo tattooed on them, I’m not only turned off by their view, but turned off to apple altogether because it reinforces the stereotype of all apples fans being cult-like.

I’ve still got my Apple stickers, I’ve had them since i got my iMac last year. I’m waiting for the right time to use them.
My Advent Laptop looks a lot like a real Apple MacBook Pro, with it’s Apple sticker!
On the other side, only Opensource projects have been able to gather so much enthousiasm (Linux, etc.)
You can’t tell that for Microsoft Products or Sony’s for that matter (PSP’s homebrew never reached its maximum)
Exept for the desktop gaming, and even considering MS case, Apple didn’t have MS monopoly to inspire (not force) people to do so
So we the people should get salary from Apple hahah.

my friend had an imb laptop, and put the Apple logo sticker over the imb logo
i was wearing my leopard tshirt and people thought i was supporting xmen until i told them what the x meant
That’s a very good point about the apple stickers and I have had one on my pc for abut 4 years but i don’t see why other companies aren’t making stickers ( or other things like that ). If they did maybe fans of them would put it on other computers and hardware, so i see no reason why they wouldn’t do it .

I stuck an Apple Sticker on top of the HP logo on a printer, Dell Computer, Compaq Laptop, and I even have an Apple Sticker over my front door so everyone knows what kind of house they are walking in too
